Dog grooming terms and conditions

By booking an appointment with The Bark Bungalow, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Health & Behaviour

  • Your dogs health is paramount here at The Bark Bungalow. If there are any underlying medical issues, skin conditions or allergies you must make The Bark Bungalow aware prior to the groom.
  • You must disclose if your dog has aggressive issues. Unfortunately The Bark Bungalow does not accept or tolerate aggressive dogs in the salon. If your dog does show any sign of aggression The Bark Bungalow has the right to refuse a groom due to the behaviour of the dog.

2. Fleas & Parasites

  • Please ensure that your dog is up to date with their flea treatment and completely flea free before entering the salon.
  • The Bark Bungalow works hard to ensure a clean environment is made for the dogs and clients. If fleas are discovered on your dog the groom will be immediately stopped and a phone call will be made to come and collect your dog from the salon.

3. Matting & Coat Condition

  • The Bark Bungalow values the safety and well being of your furry friend above all else. Unfortunately when dogs come to the salon with severely matted fur the best course of action is often a shave down. This is because attempting to brush or demat severely tangled fur can cause significant discomfort and pain to the dog, in some cases may even result in injury.
  • Therefore if your dog comes in with severely matted fur, we recommend a shave down for comfort and safety. The Bark Bungalow will take great care to ensure that your dog is as comfortable as possible throughout the process and will work with you to determine the best length and style for your dogs new haircut.
  • The Bark Bungalow understands that a shave down may not be your preferred grooming option but please know that it is always done in the dogs best interest. The Bark Bungalow encourages you to maintain your dogs grooming needs on a regular basis to avoid matting in the future

4. Accidents & Injury

  • While every care is taken, grooming carries inherent risks, particularly with elderly, nervous, or matted dogs.
  • You agree that The Bark Bungalow is not liable for injury, illness, or death unless caused by proven negligence.

  • A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
